Adam Townsend is the Chief Financial Officer at VIZIO, the leading US-based maker of Smart TVs, sound bars, and its proprietary streaming platform, SmartCast. He joined VZIO in May 2020 and quickly established the organization’s finance, accounting and SEC reporting functions that led to a successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: VZIO) in March 2021 – all online during the pandemic. Adam also oversees VIZIO’s Human Resources, which includes responsibility for HR Information Systems (HRIS), compensation strategy, talent acquisition and payroll.
Prior to joining VIZIO Holding Corp., Adam was the Chief Financial Officer of Showtime Networks Inc., a premium cable and streaming network wholly owned by ViacomCBS, from October 2018 to March 2020. Adam held leadership roles across Investor Relations, Treasury and Corporate Finance at CBS Corporation during his decade long tenure. Prior to his time in media & entertainment, Adam served in various executive positions in the financial technology sector, including time as an Equity Research Analyst at JPMorgan covering the early development of the online brokerage industry.
